Nikki Piper DVM

Dr. Nikki Piper

Hello everyone, my name is Nikki Piper and I am one of the veterinarians and current owner here at Apple Tree Animal Clinic. My family and I purchased the clinic from Dr. Norma Hough in September of 2019. Over the past year, I have been working alongside Dr. Hough trying to transition into the role of clinic owner while getting to know all the clients and pets.

I grew up on a small family farm in Northwest Pennsylvania raising cattle and doing hay with my family. After high school, I attended The Ohio State University where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and where I met my husband. After graduating from tOSU, I went on to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where I completed the veterinary program and obtained my DVM degree. After graduation, my husband I am moved to Eastern Montana where I took a job as a large and small animal veterinarian working with cattle, cats, and dogs primarily. Three years into living in Montana and loving every minute of it, we had our first child, our daughter. We made the difficult decision to move back east to be closer to our families so that they would be able to see the grandkids more. We ended up moving to West Virginia, bought a house, and settled back into eastern living. When Apple Tree Animal Clinic came up for sale in 2019, I jumped on the opportunity to be a clinic owner and provide the best care I could for your pets. Shortly after purchasing the clinic, my family expanded and we welcomed our second child, our son, into the world. So, this past year has definitely been a whirlwind but it has been an exciting adventure for my family and the clinic employees.

My goal at Apple Tree Animal Clinic is to provide the best possible care for your animals. I understand the pets are like children to you and I want to treat them and you with the same care that you expect when having your children doctored. This COVID-19 pandemic has been a test for my first year of ownership and having to adjust and adapt to different procedures has been difficult but please know that we are doing to best to keep everyone safe while helping to stop the spread. We are hoping that we can get back to doing things normally here in the near future. We are planning to do a customer appreciation/open house as soon as this pandemic has slowed down and we can get back to a new normal. I look forward to meeting everyone and hope that you will continue to trust Apple Tree Animal Clinic with all of your pet’s needs.
